I am Dr. Victor Tien-En, Chiang. My journey began in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and later led me to specialize in Craniofacial Surgery—a path I have devoted more than a decade to. A senior mentor once joked that I had spent longer than most forging a “dragon-slaying sword,” only to discover that there were no dragons left to slay in Taiwan. I have often thought about those words.

As one of the few craniofacial surgeons in Taiwan with a background in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, there may be fewer opportunities here to fully apply everything I have trained for. Yet beyond Taiwan, there are still places where patients continue to wait for reconstructive care—and where these years of training can truly make a difference.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery taught me to understand the intricate relationship between the teeth, jaws, and facial skeleton.

Craniofacial Surgery, with its foundation in Plastic Surgery, expanded that perspective to include the delicate balance of facial soft tissues.

Together, these disciplines have shaped the way I operate—not simply to solve a surgical problem, but to pursue harmony, precision, and function in every detail.

Regardless of the setting or available resources, I believe the standard of surgery should never change. Every patient deserves the same level of precision, thoughtful planning, and meticulous craftsmanship.

My background in oral and maxillofacial surgery allows me to gain a deeper understanding of oral and bone conditions, while craniofacial surgery, combined with plastic surgery training, gives me a more comprehensive understanding of facial soft and hard tissues.

This dual background gives me great confidence in the precision and perfection of my surgical skills. I believe that even under different environmental conditions, I can still demonstrate the highest standards of meticulous surgical artistry.
